Managing Director - Investment Banking

Bilal Basrai is the Managing Director and head of Zacks investment Banking, where he oversees the firm’s investment banking and capital markets efforts. Prior to joining ZacksIB, Bilal was most recently Director of the Corporate Finance Group at C.K. Cooper & Company, a research-driven, institution-focused, investment banking boutique, providing the full range of capital market and advisory services to public and private companies. At C.K. Cooper & Company, he was the team leader on corporate finance assignments with the firm’s Healthcare clients, which included appraisals, fairness opinions, merger and acquisition advice, licensing agreements and capital formation.

Bilal spent the majority of his career in New York City covering the Health Care Services sector with leading investment banks including Salomon Smith Barney, UBS Financial, and Lehman Brothers. He also spent two years with the Stanford Financial Group in South Florida, prior to co-founding Iliad Advisors, LLC in 2006, a boutique investment advisory firm. Bilal has been involved in over $4.5 billion worth of transactions in the Healthcare sector over his Wall Street career.

Bilal has also been a top-ranked analyst for the majority of the Healthcare stocks that he has covered during his days as an equity research analyst and has generated an excess industry return of 11.1%, according to analyst ranking agency Starmine Monitor. The agency has ranked him as the seventh best stock-picker in the Healthcare Services & Providers Industry. Bilal has been quoted numerous times in The Wall Street Journal articles along with other major financial and news publications. He holds series 7, 63, 86 & 87 securities licenses. Bilal attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he graduated with a degree in Finance and Economics. He also played on a tennis scholarship at the University of Illinois, and continues to be an avid tennis player and fan.



Associate - Investment Banking

Bryce Stirton is an Associate for Zacks Investment Banking and is responsible for valuation, due diligence and financial modeling for the firm’s investment banking and capital markets operations. Prior to joining Zacks, Bryce was the Senior Analyst at Ancor Capital Partners, a lower-middle market private equity firm. While at Ancor, he evaluated prospective acquisition opportunities including valuation, capital structure determination and due diligence analysis. Additionally, Bryce provided financial, transactional and operational support for the firm’s portfolio companies.

Bryce began his career with AGI Investments in the Distressed Acquisitions group, and was responsible for the discovery and valuation of investment grade assets.

He graduated cum laude with honors and a degree in Economics with minors in Finance and Spanish from Texas Christian University. Bryce currently holds the Series 63 & 79 securities licenses.



Executive Vice President - Private Placements

Daniel Mulcahy brings more than 20 years of expertise in management and finance to Zacks Investment Banking. With experience on both sides of the aisle, he has advised individual investors on portfolio allocation and also actively raised over 100 million dollars in private placement investments. Daniel has owned and operated real estate asset management and development companies, giving him first hand knowledge of the challenges of running a successful venture. Stints at Merrill Lynch and Rainmaker Securities allowed him to expand his knowledge to include a broad range of traditional and alternative investment classes. He oversees business operations including sales, marketing, technology strategy and business development at Zacks Investment Banking. Daniel holds his securities registrations 24, 79, 7 & 66.



Managing Director - SCR

Jason Napodano, CFA has been with Zacks Investment Research since 2003 working as the Senior Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology analyst. In July 2009, Jason became Managing Director for the U.S. Institutional Equity Research Division.

Before joining Zacks, Jason served as Vice President and Senior Equity Analyst covering U.S. large-cap equities for Eastover Capital Management from 1999 to 2002. Prior to Eastover, Jason worked as a laboratory research scientist for TechLab Inc., a biotechnology company focused on the development of diagnostic kits and vaccines for infectious disease, from 1995 to 1998.
Jason holds a BS from Virginia Tech in Biochemistry and a MBA from Wake Forest University. Jason is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.



Senior Portfolio Manager - ZIM

Mitch Zacks is Zacks Investment Management’s primary expert in the area of quantitative investing and is responsible for developing the firm’s proprietary models and managing many of its portfolios. Mitch is a noted columnist and speaker on the subject of wealth management. Mitch joined Zacks in 1997 as a quantitative analyst and in 1998 became Director of Investment Model Development. Prior to joining Zacks, Mitch was an investment banking analyst with Lazard Freres in New York. Mitch is the author of Ahead of the Market, published by Harper Collins in 2003 and Little Book of Stock Market Profits, published by John Wiley in 2011. He has a B.A in Economics from Yale University and an M.B.A in Analytic Finance from the University of Chicago.



Managing Director- Institutional Trading Services

Stephen Hinel joined LBMZ Securities in May 2006 and serves as the Managing Director and head of institutional trading at ZacksTrade, where he oversees the firm’s institutional trading desk and Zacks New Issue service. In this capacity he heads the syndicate research group, considered a global market leader in the syndicate arena and a consistent source of alpha generation. Stephen has designed and developed internal trading operating systems and risk procedures which have both aided in best price execution practices and benefitted the firms overall risk management. His expertise includes inter-market analysis, sector rotation, chart pattern probabilities. overbought/oversold, pairs & sub trading, and relative strength & statistics. Stephen created and employed his proprietary trading models called The Intelligent Technical Analysis (ITA) model, which is now used daily on the Institutional trading desk at Zacks & Company.

Stephen has 20 years of experience in trading, fund management, technical & market direction analysis and syndicate research experience. He served as the Principal Portfolio Manager of StrongCap Wealth Management (2008-2012), overseeing the hedge fund - The StrongCap Fund. His previous experience also includes serving as Manager of Institutional Trading for Halpern Capital (2004-2006), Northcoast Securities (2003-2004), First Allied Securities (2000-2003) and Keane Securities (1999-2000), and trader at Triad Securities (1992-1999).

Stephen currently holds Series 7, 24, 55, 63 securities licenses. He graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy, and currently resides in Westfield, NJ.



Managing Director – ZacksTrade

Jason Toledo is Managing Director of ZacksTrade, a division of LBMZ Securities, where he oversees the retail brokerage firm dedicated to self-directed investors. Jason has approximately 10 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining ZacksTrade, He led the sales and business development initiatives at OptionsHouse, a division of Peak6 Investments. During his time at Peak6 Investments, Mr. Toledo established a new customer-focused approach within the call center environment. Mr. Toledo was responsible for lead conversion and assisted in reducing the costs per funded account by 50% annually.

Jason spent the majority of his financial services career with Scottrade. While attending college, he obtained an internship with Scottrade working in one of their retail branch offices. He was promoted to branch manager in one of Scottrade’s Houston, TX branch offices. His branch office was a regional training branch where he mentored and trained new branch manager candidates. The branch office received numerous customer satisfaction recognitions and was in the top 10% of branches for revenue. His final position with Scottrade led him to the corporate office in St. Louis, MO as a Regional Branch Administration Manager. There he led the business development and supervisory initiatives for the 34 branch offices he managed.

A graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park with degrees in Economics and Criminal Justice, Jason holds the Series 4, 7, 24 and 63 licenses.
